HEADS FULL OF MUSH

Rush Limbaugh used to refer to youth who identified with what we now know as wokeness as “young heads filled with mush.” But these “young (and not so young) heads” were and are filled with something more noxious and nasty than mush. They’re filled with lies, pride and a sense of superiority and enttitlement; minds made stupid, suicidal and homicidal by sin — sin that has infected them with a kind of spiritual rabies that makes them think and act like hydrophobic animals.

Wokeness has been defined as, “The authoritarian world view that seeks to deconstruct the foundations of our Christian faith by overwhelming, over powering and overthrowing those who do not adhere to its ideology." Rooted in an ideology profoundly alienated from God, it is an expression of spiritually generated madness; a demonic blend of narcissism, self-loathing and a hatred of everything that shouldn’t be hated; such as home, country, law and order, civility, common sense and decency. It constitutes a rotting out of the mind, a hollowing out of the soul, and an embrace (consciously or unconsciously), of a culture of death.

We should be spiritually burdened for for those who are woke-minded, and try to reason with them, on the basis of Truth, whenever possible. Sometimes it's impossible because it is impossible to reason with incorrigibly unreasonable people who are consciously contemptuous of the Truth, and for whom Truth is something "fallen in the street" (Isa. 59:14). The only cure for the rabidly woke is "repenance toward God, and faith our Lord Jesus Christ" (Acts 20:21).

It's important that we understand how dark and dangerous wokeness is, and to make sure our children understand it and steer clear of it. I recently spent time with two of my nine year old granddaughters explaining to them what communiism and socialism is, its history, and why it is unChristian and unAmerican. Children are bright. Their minds are quite capable of processing these things and they need to know them.
